Friends, it's been awhile! I have a BIG announcement to share with you! But first, a loaded question: How are you?
Like everyone else, I was swept up in the churning waves of the last nine months. Times are really hard. I hope that you haven't been swallowed by grief and despair. If you have, you're not alone, and I'd like to reach out to you. Seriously - if you need a little something to lift your spirits, let me know!
The support of my community, my family, my friends is what has kept me afloat. It's easy to forget, but we are inter-dependent creatures. That is our strength as human beings. I would like to introduce my newest artwork in that spirit of connection.
All Connected - and surprise, it's a shirt!
The sweet guys from one of my favorite podcasts, Street Fight Radio, approached me with a proposal. They said, "Draw whatever you want, we will put it on a T-shirt, and split the profits between us AND an organization of your choice." I had a great time creating this piece, and I am incredibly excited to share it with you all!
The organization I've chosen to share in profits from all shirt sales is Prison Health News. "Prison Health News is a print newsletter read by thousands of people who are locked up in prisons across the United States. Prison Health News is produced by a Philadelphia-based collective of editors and includes the work of imprisoned artists and writers. Our readers are living inside a system that denies them prevention tools and treatment information about HIV, hepatitis, and other health issues. They are dealing with medical neglect, daily humiliations driven by intense stigma, and the destruction of their communities by mass imprisonment."
When you purchase an All Connected shirt, you will be supporting independent artists, and health and dignity for people locked up in our country's cruel carceral system. (Did you know that the rate of incarceration in the US is five times higher than that of most other countries in the world?)
The shirts are 100% cotton, union-printed in the US, and available in short sleeve, long sleeve, and kid's sizes. You can pre-order during the month of November, and they should arrive around the end of December.
If you would like to support, but don't need another T-shirt, you can also select the "donate" option. This will pay for half the cost of a shirt for someone else. It also means that if you want a shirt and can't afford the full price, you can get one at a discount!
Thank YOU for following along with my artwork. It's such a blessing to be able to share it with others, and I am grateful for that.
Stay safe,
Wormy
